Lora Northway Canada
Lora Northway lives and works in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She received her HBFA in fine arts from Lakehead University, with a focus on mixed-media installation. Her current works are delicate, three dimensional drawings, on reclaimed, pull down maps. Inspired by her family’s immigration to Canada in 1901, her stylistic references include Finnish textile, pattern, and myth, with a local and contemporary vernacular. Her interest lies in the concept of being grounded, notions of the self and home. Alongside her studio practice she is a gallery co coordinator for Definitely Superior Artist Run Centre and founder of the Die Active Graffiti Art Collective.
