Methane Studios Atlanta

Methane Studios started in 1998 when Mark McDevitt and Robert Lee formed a partnership to produce silk screen posters for the East Atlanta club The Echo Lounge. The Lounge was home to many of the best independent bands of the 1990s.

The roots of their partnership started in the 1980s at Columbus College of Art and Design located in Columbus, Ohio. Robert and Mark both from small Ohio towns, studied illustration and developed a bond that would endure for 25 years of designing things together. Methane has been featured in numerous books on design and illustration- the two have won several awards and design competitions in How, Print magazine, and the Graphics poster annual.

Today Methane Studios operates as a two-man studio creating package designs, logos, and posters for clients such as Turner Broadcasting, Honda, Liberty mutual, Blue Q, Dave Matthews, etc. The goal is always to tell a story, convey a message, and to encourage the audience to thoughtfully engage the design.
