Lieke van der Vorst is the iullstrator behind Liekeland. She grew up in a small town, Kaatsheuvel, in The Netherlands. Growing up, she spent summers with her parents in a De Waard tent 13 hours from home in France to camp among lavender fields. It was these experiences in nature that influenced her life and work. Being kind to animals and the environment became an important part of her vision and work. Nature is a recurring theme in her work, capturing a sense of positivity while still addressing serious issues. Lieke tries to use her illustrations to make a positive impact on the world and to practice green living as much as possible.
