Chris LibertiCharlotte, NC

Chris maintains a studio in Charlotte, NC where he resides with his wife, two daughters and son. Born in Buffalo, NY (1974) and studied fine arts & urban planning at Buffalo State College. He lived in NYC from 1999 – 2007 where he worked as a decorative painter and audio engineer/producer. Chris continues to exhibit his work in NY, NC, CA, TX and GA and teaches painting workshops from his studio and throughout the US and Europe.

Chris is curious how a moment can be enveloped in atmosphere. Searching for only the essentials that can illustrate both an abstract and tangible sentiment. Each painting is an accumulation of buried ideas, trials and errors. They are complex puzzles that only through the process of a genuine experience can they be rightfully resolved. Over the years he has come to acknowledge that the painting will get “there”… (eventually), but not without a certain amount of madness.
